Odds and ends...

Let's face it. I'm not a faithful blogger. I know it. You know it. The first step is accepting it.

Sometimes it's hard to get in an inspired mood. And sometimes...I'm just too darn tired. It's true. I heart sleep. Fortunately, I was blessed with what seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity....a week with no children.

Those who follow my instagram account may remember that I took a trip to the beautiful state of Illinois with my handsome husband.

Jason likes to take a trip each fall for bow hunting season and I was lucky enough to tag along this year. Note: not to hunt...but to relax aka heaven!

During the week we spent in Illinois I began to feel revived. Sometimes, I forget that I am more than just mother to three kids and wife of a hardworking man.

Having a little alone time helped me see through the fog and remember the things that inspire me.

Not only was I fortunate enough to enjoy the peacefulness of alone time, but I was surrounded by beautiful landscapes, homes and people. It was like the haileys comet of inspiration. I was able to relax AND I felt truly inspired.

There were three things that interested me the most. Sleep. Antiques. Playing with my camera. Fortunately, I was able to practice all 3... A lot.

We stayed with an unbelievably kind family who's land Jason hunts. They are a large tight knit crowd and at the head of the crew, a kind and hard working man and his lovely and welcoming wife. It's no wonder that their children are all incredibly kind and their grandchildren are very well mannered and thoughtful too.

This trip was a feast for my Midwest loving eyes!

I absolutely love calling North Carolina home, but it would not take much to convince me to move somewhere off the grid. Can you imagine living your days tucked away in the woods in a story book home??

With a beautiful old abandoned barn or two....

And cows....

Definitely cows!

We had an amazing time and I am so appreciative of the rest. However, I am a homebody and there is no place like home!

We returned well rested to take on our annual friendsgiving. It was a huge success and the barn looked better than I ever could have imagined.

The more events I have here...the more I know this is what I want to do. I absolutely love the thrill of it! Keep us in mind local peeps...if you have an event coming up! She's still under construction, but she has come a long way in 6 months.

Now time to decorate for Christmas again...it feels like I just took the tree down from last year! It's going to take me a LONG time. Might as well get started...in the barn of course.

Have a great day!! Trinity
