Welcome to my first home tour. Ever. Being the amateur blogger that I am (and by amateur I mean I have to google "how to's" a lot) I have never participated in something like this. I am honored to join a talented group of friends on this amazing Christmas tour. Make sure to check out each of their homes as well!! Can you believe we're already talking Christmas? Where does the time go? If you're like me, the thought of Christmas decorating can be overwhelming. In Christmases
Let's face it. I'm not a faithful blogger. I know it. You know it. The first step is accepting it. Sometimes it's hard to get in an inspired mood. And sometimes...I'm just too darn tired. It's true. I heart sleep. Fortunately, I was blessed with what seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity....a week with no children. Those who follow my instagram account may remember that I took a trip to the beautiful state of Illinois with my handsome husband. Jason likes to take a trip
I like to think of myself as an amateur picker of sorts. I don't claim to know the facts and details of every piece I find. Or even 75% of what I find. I literally just search for what I love....relentlessly. I love the adrenaline of the search. My full name should probably be Trinity "thrill of the hunt" Holmes. And don't even get me started on when I find "the one"! It's indescrable excitement. I have a problem. I know. You're probably wondering if this is a cry for help.
Wow! A thousand apologies for dragging my feet on a blog post. I never realized all the work that went into blogging and I am amazed at the dedication a lot of bloggers have. You have my deepest respect! We have made a few leaps and bounds on the barn thus far. One of those being a cozy fireplace. Who has two thumbs and needs a fireplace in a barn??? ....This girl!! I am a sucker for a fireplace. I was sad to hear of all the original ones the previous owner had removed from o
When Jason and I first purchased this home there were two things I knew I HAD to do. The floors had to be stripped and returned to their former glory, and the kitchen had to have a "band aid" makeover. The cabinets, the counter tops, the backsplash, the floors...and on and on...kept me up at night. I would lay in bed and dream of painting these cabinets white. Thoughts of sledge hammers were dancing through my head. This wall color was indescribably ugly. It was not meant for
My brother and his wife recently purchased a 1963 ranch style fixer upper. They are so excited to use the bones and create a home they love. And I am so thrilled they have asked me to help. Blank canvas...how exciting. We have decided to begin with my nieces room. She is a beautiful fifteen year old cheerleader, who is so very sweet and helpful to me and my crazy brood of three children. I could not be more thrilled to help her design a room she loves. I asked her to begin b
Looking back, I wish that I had been recording our home renovation from the beginning. We have lived here for two years and have tackled quite a few projects. I wish I would have been better about documenting the steps we took. When we decided to begin the barn renovation I thought...now is the time. I felt like this would be fun to document and share along the way. This was our barn when we bought the house. Jason has added horse stalls, steps, a floor inside, walls, wired i
Welcome! I'm taking a huge leap out of my comfort zone. I hate to sound negative or sheepish and admit this, but it is hard to put myself out there. I have thought about blogging for years and just couldn't quIte pull the trigger. I question my "design" choices daily and I am always second guessing myself. Who am I to put thoughts and ideas out there into this universe of immeasurable talent? I have always believed that Instagram / blogging would invite critics and negativity
